There are old age homes to take care of them, but only for those who are physically and mentally stable. When there is a case of illness, they have to be shifted to hospital.

Suvidhaa Nursing Care Centre is a hospice. It means a place close to your home where nursing care is provided with utmost empathy and tenderness, under medical supervision.

About us

Suvidhaa Nursing Home was started in 2000 by Dr. Medha Oka, a practising paediatrician, who worked with Hinduja Hospital, Mumbai, earlier. Presently she is a consultant paediatrician with Inlaks & Budhrani Hospital and Dinanath Mangeshkar Hospital, Pune. She is also associated with Sahyadri Hospitals, Ruby Hall Clinic and Jahangir Hospital as a Panel Consultant. Suvidhaa Nursing Home is registered with Pune Municipal Corporation.

In May 2013 along with her friend Mrs. Anuradha Bhandarkar, who has a background in Home Science, started Suvidhaa Nursing Care Centre. This is a hospice which provides authentic care & service. Dr. Oka has herself taken care of geriatric patients with neuro degeneration, which has given her a first hand experience of nursing and patient care.

Care at home? not feasible really

One may think that care of bedridden seniors can be arranged at home. However, it's not a good option as the house is exposed to outsiders with no accountability. Necessary equipments may not be readily available at home. The patient occupies one entire room. Hence the family is likely to get disturbed both physically and mentally.
